Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

This is an ‘add on’ procedure that we do with IVF. In very simple words, we grasp one good sperm cell, prepare it and inject it inside one egg. This procedure needs a lot of skill and training on the lab and embryology side. Indications are usually related to poor sperm parameters, with very low numbers that there are not enough sperm cells to ‘naturally’ fertilize an egg (in traditional IVF), or if there is very limited movement, etc.
